Choose shoes you know you can comfortably wear for extended periods. Block heels, wedges, dressy sandals, or classic flats are often better choices than stilettos you’ll be ready to kick off after 20 minutes. Throw a comfortable pair of shoes in your rush bag and change in between rounds.

Spend More On: Dresses That Fit Well

Your dresses don’t need to be expensive, but they should fit properly.

A simple dress that fits beautifully will always look more polished than a designer dress that’s constantly being adjusted.

When shopping, ask yourself:

• Can I sit comfortably?
• Can I walk naturally?

• Will I feel confident wearing this for several hours?

This is one of the most overlooked investments.

Choose a bag that’s clean, functional, and coordinates with your outfit. It simply needs to hold your essentials without distracting from your overall look. Many schools provide a bag for you at the beginning of recruitment week.

Save On: Trendy Accessories

Simple jewelry works beautifully and works with multiple outfits.

Instead of buying several trendy pieces you’ll only wear once, invest in a few timeless accessories that complement every look.

One of the biggest misconceptions about recruitment is that every outfit has to be brand new.

Many successful PNMs wear dresses they already own, borrow pieces from friends or family, or rent special occasion dresses. Thoughtful styling matters far more than having a closet full of new purchases.

Remember What Chapters Actually Notice

The women you’re meeting are looking for someone they can imagine calling a sister.

They’ll remember your kindness, your confidence, your enthusiasm, and the conversations you shared far longer than they’ll remember where your dress came from.
